Irresistable Splurge: NovaLash Lashes

When I heard about NovaLash’s custom eyelash system on SheBlogs.org, I had to try them for myself. I have always considered myself to have nice lashes – but have always wanted a more dramatic lash line. Completely inept with the drug store stick-on lashes that my friends have tried out (believe me – many of them are inept at applying them as well), I’ve made myself content with testing various mascaras and eyeliners. However, I jumped at the opportunity to take these NovaLashes for a free test run.

About NovaLash: Wary of using falsies? – lashes that is — but want tear-proof, long, lush, gorgeous lashes?  NovaLash eyelash extensions are the answer to your beauty prayers!  NovaLash semi-permanent eyelash extensions are individually adhered to each natural lash, one at a time, for the most natural transformation possible. These weightless wonders beautifully enhance the eyes with looks that range from subtle and demure to fanciful and glamorous.

Comprised of a wide-ranging palette of colors and textures that can be combined for looks that range from natural and flirty to dramatic and glamorous; each application is a work of art with an intricate finish.   This ravishing metamorphosis is made possible through the creative artistry of NovaLash trained lash stylists. These stylists expertly apply lash extensions to create eye-catching, eye-framing, one-of-a-kind works of art, unique to each wearer.  NovaLash stylists work like fairy godmothers transforming thin, sparse, ordinary lashes into lash art, and you into a mysteriously adorned beauty.

Now – that’s PR copy, and while I hate to cut and paste, I agree 100% with everything their PR rep, Ali, wrote. The lashes are pricey – $400 – but for a wedding or special occasion – or if that’s a feasible luxury in your budget – they are worth EVERY penny. I went to see Angela at GlamourGirl Lashes for my trial run, and she was fantastic. She took about 3 hours to apply them (you’d never think it was so hard to keep your eyes closed for 3 hours until you have to!), and when I was done, my entire face was transformed – by something so subtle that I never would have expected it. The lashes opened my eyes, made them look bigger, and flattered my face, and you would NEVER know they were fake. That said, I saw some of the work she’d done for clients who wanted a more dramatic look – and if you go TOO long – it’s obvious.

I had mine done  just before my wedding – and I am so hooked that I have been going back for fill-ins (you have to have the lashes filled every 2 – 3 weeks, and should have them freshly touched-up within a few days of any major event) ever since.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary full set of NovaLashes for review purposes, but did not receive any other form of compensation. My opinions are mine alone and were not influenced by the product sample.
